How to create a Hyperliquid API key for AlgoVesta

Follow these steps to generate a trade-only API key on Hyperliquid and connect it to AlgoVesta in minutes.

  1. Go to app.hyperliquid.xyz/api and connect your wallet
  2. Click Generate API Wallet
  3. Approve the signature request in your wallet (MetaMask / WalletConnect)
  4. Set an optional name for the API wallet (e.g. AlgoVesta)
  5. Copy the API Wallet Address as your API Key
  6. Copy the API Wallet Private Key as your Secret Key
  7. Important: keep the private key secure — it controls the API wallet

Security first: never enable withdrawal permission. AlgoVesta only needs read + trade access — your keys are stored AES-256 encrypted and funds always stay on your own exchange account.

Yes. The key you create above is trade-only — withdrawal permission is never requested. Keys are stored AES-256 encrypted, and you can revoke access on Hyperliquid at any time; see revoking & rotating keys.
Enable spot and/or futures trading, whichever markets you plan to use. Leave withdrawal off, and leave transfer off too where Hyperliquid offers that permission separately.
No, it is optional. If you do enable it, add both AlgoVesta IP addresses from the IP whitelist page — restricting the key to only one address can get requests from the other server rejected.
